Do you have children who crave experience and you, as parents, want them to be global citizens? The Academia Internacional, located in the charming and colonial city of San Miguel de Allende, offers from preschool to high school education to a growing community of globally minded families. A bilingual experience where children split their time between English and Spanish instruction in core subjects that builds the foundation of the students’ education. The Academia offers to our students a journey to expand their understanding of the world as they delve into academic projects, pursue interests in extracurricular activities, and establish friendships with students from different cultures and nations. While pursuing academic achievement, students are supported in language learning, cultural sensitivity, self-expression and group cohesion.
New for 2016-2017, secondary students will have the opportunity to take Cambridge courses or continue with the bilingual national curriculum. Those enrolled in Cambridge courses will be able to take certificate exams that are internationally recognized and challenge students to look beyond the frontiers of Mexico. Dominic Simmons, the Academic Director of Academia International is excited by these developments: “Our students will have the chance to widen their horizons with international qualifications like Cambridge that are not limited by any country’s borders but is a passport to unlimited opportunities”.
The Academia International’s headmaster Dr. Lore Carrera-Carrillo, is also a passionate believer in the value of international education. She said: “We have a responsibility as educators to give students the skills to cope in an increasingly competitive world. Cambridge and our international curriculum at all grade levels require students not to just memorize facts but to think critically, to form hypotheses, which are then tested and evaluated before judgments are reached”.
